This article discusses different Foscam model ranges which are designated as W, P and E models.

W Model:

A camera with wireless networking capability. The unit must be configured properly before it will interface with a wireless network.

P Model:

A camera with P2P capability. This allows the end user to scan a QR code for the camera or use a UID identifier for the camera to be used with the Foscam App. The camera can also be configured to be used with a VMS on a computer. The camera can then be viewed remotely without setup for remote access like port forwarding. P models also support wireless networks except for the model FI9903P.

E Model:

A camera with POE capability. This allows the camera to be powered over an Ethernet cable. This is an advantage when the camera is cabled but no power source is available in the area where the camera is deployed. POE cameras DO NOT support wireless capability.

EP Model:

This is a camera with both POE capability and P2P capability combined into one unit.
